Chandigarh, June 9: Employees of the Punjab Revenue Department ended their strike on Wednesday after Revenue Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa assured them that their demands will be considered sympathetically.
On the direction of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Revenue Minister held a meeting with Punjab Revenue Officers’ Association at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1.
Jimpa assured the representatives of the protesting association that their demands would be considered sympathetically and detailed instructions regarding NoCs would be released soon, to eliminate any confusion during the registration process.
Last week, revenue officers, tehsildars, and naib-tehsildars went on a mass casual leave to seek solutions to two key issues - clarity on the issuance of no-objection certificates (NOC) for the registry of any property, and the reinstatement of two tehsildars who had been suspended 10 days ago.

Punjab government also agreed to release a list of unauthorised and authorised colonies, for revenue officers.
After the meeting, the representatives assured the revenue minister that the staff will immediately return to work for providing hassle-free services to the public.
Revenue officers’ association president Gurdev Singh Dham further announced to call off the strike. “It has been decided that the two suspended tehsildars will also be reinstated shortly,” he said.
After the meeting with Revenue Department representatives, Jimpa said that the Bhagwant Mann Government is committed to working for the welfare of the employees and will try to resolve the issues of the revenue officers’ association at the earliest.
