Punjab: State Election Commission orders re-polling at 2 more booths; details inside

Punjab Municipal Election 2021: The State Election Commission (SEC) on Tuesday ordered re-polling at 2 booths of SAS Nagar Municipal Corporation.

Disclosing this on Tuesday, a spokesperson of the State Election Commission said that the Sub Divisional Magistrate cum Returning Officer SAS Nagar received a report by the Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer.

Punjab Municipal Election 2021: The State Election Commission (SEC) ordered re-polling at 2 booths of SAS Nagar Municipal Corporation.

The report highlighted the mistakes during the polling in booths no. 32 and 33 of ward no. 10 in Municipal Corporation SAS Nagar. Likewise, the re-polling was announced at these booths.

The spokesperson said that taking immediate action, the commission canceled the earlier polling at these two booths and ordered fresh polling here.

Punjab Municipal Election 2021: The State Election Commission (SEC) ordered re-polling at 2 booths of SAS Nagar Municipal Corporation.

He further said that re-polling at these booths would now take place at these two booths on February 17, 2021, from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.

Also, he announced that instead of the earlier scheduled program, the counting of votes in Municipal Corporation SAS Nagar will now begin at 9 am on February 18, 2021.

Punjab Municipal Election 2021: The State Election Commission (SEC) ordered re-polling at 2 booths of SAS Nagar Municipal Corporation.

According to the SEC, the Voting turnout recorded a new high in general/by-elections of 8 Municipal Corporations and 109 Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats of Punjab with 71.39 percentage of votes been polled.

The Spokesperson, after voting for Punjab Municipal Election 2021 on Sunday, said that today voters decided the fate of a total of 9222 candidates and enlisted their opinion in EVMs.
