Schools closed in Tamil Nadu due to heavy rain, exams cancelled
Schools in Chennai and other coastal districts in Tamil Nadu will remain closed due to heavy rain and devastation caused by the cyclone Gaja.
Officials have declared holiday for schools in Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts.
The Chennai collector declared a holiday for all schools as well as colleges today. Meanwhile, Madras University has also cancelled exams scheduled for today.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami will brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the devastation caused by the cyclonic storm Gaja.
