Chandigarh January 19: during Scrutiny out of the total 1941 nomination for the upcoming Punjab Vidhan Sabha Elections to the 117 Constituencies, 1243 Nomination Papers were found valid while 695 papers were rejected. Three cases have been kept pending.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Chief Electoral Office Punjab said that after scrutiny of the papers today, January 21, is the last date for the withdrawals.

For Amritsar Bye-Poll, he said that out of the total 15 nominations filed, only 10 nomination papers were found valid while 5 were rejected.

Giving details of district wise valid nominations, the spokesperson said that in Pathankot 46 nominations were found valid out of 58, in Gurdaspur 73 out of 106, in Amritsar 121 out of 196, in Tarantaran 34 out of 55, in Kapurthala 37 out of 76, in Jalandhar 91 out of 146, in Hoshiarpur 79 out of 119 while 1 has been kept pending,  in Nawanshahr 31 out of 45, in Rupnagar 27 out of 41, in Mohali 37 out of 69, in Fatehgarh Sahib27 out of 37,  in Ludhiana 138 out of 222, in Moga 49 out of 61, in Ferozepur  51 out of 70, in Fazilka 48 out of 66, in Muktsar 31 out of 68, in Faridkot 28 out of 41, in Bathinda 63 out of 110, in Mansa 32 out of 48 and 2 have been kept pending, in Sangrur 71 out of 115, in Barnala 31 out of 44 and in Patiala 98 nominations have been found valid out of the total 148 filed.
