SGGS college student among three drug peddlers arrested in Chandigarh

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGGS), Sector 26 college student was among three drug peddlers who were arrested by the crime branch on Monday for possessing drugs. The police seized cocaine worth Rs 3.50 lakh.

According to media reports, the crime branch got information about the suspects possessing heroin and cocaine. Acting on the information, the crime branch team led by Inspector Amanjot Singh arrested three suspects for selling drugs in the tri-city area.

The student of SGGS was identified as Lakhan Chopra. He was a resident of sector 27. He was arrested with 12 gm of heroin. He is a BA final year student.

The police team also seized his mobile phone. It is currently examining his phone to establish all those who were in contact with him.

The other suspects arrested were identified as Suresh Kumar, a resident of Peer Muchala and Deepak a, native of Kaithal. The police told the media that the accused supply cocaine to high-society people. It is now trying to identify the people.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the suspects at the Sector 26 police station.
