Outstanding Achievement: Gurleen tops Mohali with 98.2% in PSEB class 12 results

Gurleen, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Banur, achieved a remarkable score of 491 out of 500 in the medical stream, placing her 37th in the state merit list.

Chandigarh, May 25: Mohali district witnessed outstanding achievements in the recently declared PSEB Class 12 results, with Gurleen Kaur securing the top position by scoring an impressive 98.2% marks. Gurleen, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Buta Singh Wala, Banur, achieved a remarkable score of 491 out of 500 in the medical stream, placing her 37th in the state merit list.

A total of nine students from Mohali, all of whom are girls, made it to the provisional merit list of the state, which includes 343 students. Priya Sharma from Senior Secondary Residential School for Meritorious Students, Mohali, and Armanpreet Kaur from Shaheed Lance Naik Ranjodh Singh Government Senior Secondary School, Teur village, jointly secured the second position in Mohali. Both students scored an impressive 489 out of 500 marks, equivalent to 97.8%.

Charanpreet Kaur from the meritorious school secured the third position in Mohali by scoring 488 marks (97.6%), placing her 128th in the state merit list. Other notable achievers include Harshpreet Kaur from Government School Buta Singh Wala, who ranked 182 with 487 marks (97.4%) in the non-medical stream, and Manjeet Kaur and Kavita from the meritorious school, who scored 486 (97.2%) and 485 (97%) marks, respectively.

Unfortunately, Mohali district slipped to the 20th position among 23 districts this year, with a pass percentage drop from 96.84% to 89.9%. In the previous year, Mohali was ranked 17th with a higher pass percentage. Gurdaspur emerged as the top district in the state with a pass percentage of 96.91%, followed by Pathankot (96.71%) and Amritsar (96.46%). Barnala district recorded the lowest pass percentage of 80.47%.

Ginni Duggal, the District Education Officer (Secondary), expressed that being newly appointed, she couldn't comment on the decline in Mohali's position. However, she assured that the reasons behind this decline would be thoroughly investigated.

The PSEB Class 12 results were officially announced on Tuesday, and students can access their results on the PSEB's official website, www.pseb.ac.in, and www.indiaresults.com starting from 8 am on Thursday.
