Doctors, nurses and paramedical staff go on strike seeking security and action against accused

Ludhiana, January 5: In a freaking incident, the Ludhiana Civil Hospital handed over a wrong body to the kin of another deceased, who also performed the last rites without even checking. This lead to a major commotion on the hospital premises when the kin of the deceased already cremated reached there on Thursday and got to know about the carelessness of the hospital authorities.

Infuriated family members ransacked mother and child care ward, emergency ward, and SMO office of the Ludhiana Civil Hospital.

As per information, the body of Ayush Sood was kept at the mortuary as some of his relatives had to come from abroad. However, the hospital authorities handed over his body to another family who had come to collect the body of Manish on Wednesday. They also  performed the last rites of Ayush without even seeing the body.



However, when Ayush’s father Rakesh Sood came to the Civil Hospital to get his son's body on Thursday, he got to know that the body was collected by some people on Wednesday. Ayush's relatives also came there and started ransacking the hospital.

The police said a case had been registered and further investigations were on.
