Chandra Grahan 2023: On May 5, 2023, the first lunar eclipse of the year, known as Chandra Grahan, will occur. This particular eclipse will be a penumbral eclipse, where the alignment of the Sun, Earth, and Moon is not perfect. It will coincide with two important events, Vaishakh Purnima and Buddha Purnima. In India, the eclipse will start at 8:44 pm IST and end at 1:01 am on May 6.

The lunar eclipse will be visible in various parts of the world, including Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Antarctica. Those in India will be able to view the eclipse directly, provided that the sky is clear, starting at 8:44 pm on May 5.
