Man tries to dodge police checkpoint, leaves wife behind on the road: Viral video from Uttarakhand
A Rudrapur biker allegedly swerved past a police checkpoint and rode off as his wife fell onto the road. The viral video has people asking one thing: why?
PTC Web Desk: Some people run from a challan. This man in Uttarakhand’s Rudrapur allegedly ran from the police and in the process ran out on his own wife.
A video from Trishul Chowk has gone viral and it has everything: a checkpoint, a panicked U-turn, a woman on the road and a husband who just kept riding.
The police at the checkpoint signalled the motorcyclist to pull over. Instead of stopping, he allegedly hit the accelerator and swerved sharply to slip past the cops. The sudden move threw his wife, who was riding pillion, off the bike and onto the road.
You would expect the story to end with brakes, a U-turn and a very sincere “Are you okay?” It did not. The man reportedly rode on without looking back.
Police personnel rushed to the fallen woman and helped her up. According to officials, she was questioned afterwards and said she had no injuries. The police counselled her and sent her home.
The man, meanwhile, had the head start he wanted. Whether he has been traced since is not clear from the available details.
