New Delhi, February 15: Ashish Mishra, son of Minister of State, Home, Ajay Mishra, and the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri (Uttar Pradesh) violence that left four farmers among eight dead, walked out of jail on Tuesday. Ashish Misra was granted bail by the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on February 10. Ashish Mishra's lawyers submitted two bail bonds of Rs 3 lakh each. Minister Ajay Mishra's son Ajay Ashish Mishra was arrested on October 9 last year in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence in Uttar Pradesh on October 3, 2021. Eight persons, including four farmers, were killed in the clashes during a farmers' protest. He had moved the Allahabad High Court after his bail plea was rejected by the lower court. Justice Rajiv Singh's Bench had heard his plea on January 18, 2022, and reserved its order. Ashish Mishra's advocate Salil Kumar Srivastava said the police could not prove in its report that Ashish was present in the vehicle that ran over farmers and claimed that the police did not do a proper investigation.
