Atal Bihari Vajpayee Death Anniversary: Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with President Ram Nath Kovind, Union Home Minister Amit Shah remembered the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his first death anniversary. There were several key BJP leaders who paid their tributes at the BJP stalwart's memorial, Sadaiv Atal, on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Remembering Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. His thoughts and words live on. We will always cherish his contribution to India’s development. He was passed away last year on August 16, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after a prolonged illness, at the age of 93.
