Deepotsav 2020: Ayodhya decorated with lights, awaits world record

Ayodhya Deepotsav 2020 set for Guinness World Records: Ayodhya, the city that was capital of Kosala kingdom of Maharaj Dashrath - the father of Lord Ram - is being decorated ahead of Diwali 2020 like never ever in centuries. After the Supreme Court announced landmark verdict in favour of the grand Ayodhya temple in honour of Ram Lalla Virajman, this will be the first Diwali (Deepotsav 2020) in Ayodhya. Meanwhile, the artists from the Lalit Kala Academy in Lucknow have been convened to showcase 25 sculptures of Lord Ram depicting various episodes from the epic Ramayana at Ayodhya during the Deepotsav. As per the report, the artwork of artists from Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Mathura and Prayagraj are made of fibre, terracotta, and wood, etc. The entire city has been illuminated as not even a single ghat, mutt, temple or private house is going to remain dark. Around 5,50,000 lamps will lit up the birthplace of Lord Ram. Likewise, SOPs regarding COVID-19 ahead of Diwali 2020 have been announced even as security has been beefed up to avert any untoward incident. The Guinness World Records website certifies the record dated October 26, 2019. "Ayodhya made it to the record books of Guinness World Records for achieving the 'largest display of oil lamps' at Deepotsav 2019.
