Justice Mahavir Singh Sindhu gave this order while giving his verdict on several petitions filed against this appointment process on Monday. The High Court has canceled this appointment process, but the detailed decision of the High Court is yet to come on all these petitions. Several petitions were filed against this appointment process last year, in which it was told that the Punjab government has started the process of appointment of 1158 assistant professors in government colleges of the state on October 19. According to this recruitment process, it was decided to give one mark per year to those applicants who are already working in a government college on part-time, guest faculty and on contract. In this way a maximum of 5 marks were decided to be given. But these extra marks are not being given to anyone working part-time, guest faculty and contract in government-aided colleges and any other college. The petitioner said that these rules are completely wrong. The High Court, while hearing the petition, had said that it is the duty of the state government to appoint better talent in the interest of the students, saying that the High Court has ordered the government to respond by staying this appointment until further orders .
