Haryana horror: Man kills four-year-old daughter over failing to write counting in Faridabad

PTC News Desk: In a shocking case, a 31-year-old man in Faridabad was arrested on Thursday for allegedly killing his four-year-old daughter in a fit of anger after she failed to write numbers from one to 50 in her homework, police said on Friday. The incident took place on Wednesday in Sector 58 of Ballabgarh.

The accused, identified as Krishna Jaiswal, is alleged to have brutally assaulted the child by repeatedly striking her with a rolling pin and throwing her onto the floor. Police said he later attempted to portray the death as an accident, claiming the girl had fallen down the stairs. However, the couple’s six-year-old son, who witnessed the incident, revealed the truth to his mother and later to the authorities.

The victim, Vanshika, a Class 1 student at a government school in Jhar Setli, suffered multiple bruises, fractures, and severe head injuries during the assault. Jaiswal reportedly works the night shift at a private firm in Ballabgarh, while his wife, Ranjeeta Kumari, works daytime hours at another private company.

According to investigators, Jaiswal returned home around 6 am, sent the children to school, and later supervised their homework in the afternoon. During the incident, he allegedly slapped Vanshika several times before attacking her with a rolling pin and slamming her to the floor, after which she lost consciousness.

He then rushed her to the civil hospital in Ballabgarh, where he told doctors she had slipped on the stairs. The child later died from her injuries. Police received information about the death around 6.30 pm and launched an investigation shortly thereafter.
