CAT seeks reply from Union Home Ministry and Union Public Service Commission in Punjab DGP appointment case
Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Tuesday sought a response from Union Home Ministry and Union Public Service Commission in Punjab DGP appointment case.
On March 1, Senior IPS officer, Mohammad Mustafa moved Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), seeking a stay on the appointment of Dinkar Gupta.

Mohammad Mustafa and Siddharth Chattopadhyaya moved CAT claiming that they were wrongly ignored by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in the panel of officials declared for the DGP post. He alleged that despite fulfilling all three criterions set up by the UPSC, he was ignored.

He mentioned in his petition that he learnt that his application was ‘more eligible’ for the post of DGP as per the three criterions set by the Supreme Court, which he mentioned in his petition.
