Chandigarh: Admission in government schools likely to start from mid-July

Chandigarh: As the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) has decided to cancel the pending exams of Class 10 and 12, the Education Department of Union Territory is expecting to begin the process of admission for government schools in mid-July. Most of the parents are interested in moving their children to government schools from private schools as the parents are facing financial issues due to the coronavirus pandemic, a report suggested. Rubinderjit Brar, Director of School Education, said that in a subject to the declaration of results by the CBSE, we will start the admission process somewhere in mid-July. The pending exams were scheduled to be held between July 1 to July 15. However, the exams were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Soon after the board confirmed the cancellation of the pending board examinations, the parents had a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of India on Friday accepted the Assessment Scheme presented by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which was prepared after the exams of Class 10 and 12 were cancelled across the nation.
