India confirms 30 confirmed cases of coronavirus

India has confirmed 30 positive cases of coronavirus (COVID 19) on Thursday after a new case was tested positive in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the death toll in China has surged to 3,012 while the toll has risen to 3,115 across the world. More than 90,000 cases have been reported across the world. On Wednesday, 23 cases were reported, including 15 Italian tourists and a man in Gurgaon.

Coronavirus in Chandigarh

Two suspected cases of coronavirus have been reported from Chandigarh. The doctors at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh stated that a resident of Sector 50, has a travel history to Indonesia and Singapore last week with his family. Similarly, another person has been identified as a resident of Sector 29. He has also a travel history to Bali.

All primary schools to remain shut in New Delhi

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia stated that from tomorrow (March 6), all such schools (up to class 5) both government and private to remain shut till March 31, in view of coronavirus. Also Read | Two suspected coronavirus cases reported at PGI in Chandigarh

India-EU Summit postponed

The spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs in India, Raveesh Kumar, stated that "As far as India-EU Summit is concerned which PM Modi had to attend, the health authorities of both the countries suggested that traveling must not take place at present. So, it has been decided that Summit will be rescheduled on a mutually convenient date." "The decision has been taken in the spirit of close cooperation between the EU & India who share the same concerns and commitment to global health and hope that the outbreak is contained soon," he added. -PTC News
