Punjab tally has increased to 41 after fresh cases of coronavirus were reported on Monday. Meanwhile, the death toll in Punjab has risen to 3 after a 42-year-old woman died in Ludhiana due to coronavirus on Monday. She has been identified as Pooja Rani. She was admitted to Rajendra Hospital in Ludhiana. Shockingly, a 65-year-old man, a resident of Mohali, has tested positive for coronavirus, who did not have any travel history.
Therefore, his allies are being traced to find out from whom he got contracted. Of 41 cases, one patient has recovered so far while a total of three people has died. Earlier this month, a man in Nawanshahr, Baldev Singh, died due to heart attack and later tested positive for coronavirus.
Likewise, a man, Harbhajan Singh, a resident of Hoshiarpur, died due to coronavirus on Sunday. As per the recent bulletin issued by the Health Department, 1051 samples have been taken for coronavirus test so far out of which 881 have been reported negative.
Punjab Curfew Extended
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday ordered the sealing of the state’s borders while announcing the extension of the curfew till April 14. The Chief Minister also promised special insurance for Punjab Police personnel and sanitation workers engaged in the coronavirus battle, on the lines of the scheme announced by the Government of India for frontline health workers, if the Centre does not concede the state’s demand for these covers.
Coronavirus in Chandigarh
Chandigarh has reported five new cases on Monday taking the total number of cases to 13. As per the recent bulletin released by the health department on Monday, five people were tested positive.
