Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 6907; death toll 178; recovered 4828
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 6,907 after 158 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Wednesday evening. The death toll in the state has increased to 178 after 3 new deaths were reported from the state. One new death was reported each from Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur.
According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Amritsar reported 11 new cases of coronavirus while 12 new cases were reported from Ludhiana. Jalandhar reported 72 new cases while Sangrur reported 5 new cases. Patiala reported 4 new cases, Gurdaspur and Ferozepur reported 9 each, 17 from Faridkot and 6 from Muktsar.
Bathinda and Sangrur reported 5 new cases each while 3 new cases were reported from Kapurthala. Mansa reported 2 new cases.
A total of 274 patients were declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. Of 274, 41 were from Ludhiana, 20 from Sangrur, 18 from Patiala, 12 from Mohali, 22 from Ferozepur, 10 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 111 from Jalandhar, 14 from Fazilka, 8 from Gurdaspur, 6 from Bathinda, 3 from SBS Nagar, 2 from Hoshiarpur and one each from Mansa, Kapurthala, Faridkot and Tarn Taran.
Currently, Ludhiana is on the top of the tally with 1194 cases of coronavirus followed by
Jalandhar at 1016, Amritsar at 987, and Sangrur at 593. Patiala has reported 444 cases of coronavirus while Mohali has reported 325 cases of COVID-19.

Gurdaspur tally has increased to 271 while Pathankot has 238 cases. Meanwhile, the
Coronavirus tally of Tarn Taran has increased to 208 while the number of coronavirus cases in Hoshiarpur has spiked to 187. The coronavirus tally in SBS Nagar stands at 175, Muktsar at 140, Fatehgarh Sahib at 131, Moga at 134, Ropar at 118, Faridkot at 146, Kapurthala at 121, Ferozepur at 131, Bathinda at 122 and Fazilka at 102. Barnala has 71 cases so far while the tally in Mansa stands at 53.
