Death threat allegation by Pathanmajra's wife: Women's panel seeks report within 7 days
Mohali, August 18: The Punjab Women Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of death threat being faced by Gurpreet Kaur, wife of Sanaur AAP MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, from the latter.

Making serious allegations against AAP legislator, Gurpreet on Tuesday filed a written complaint to the Zirakpur police alleging dire threats to her life from the MLA and his maternal brother. She alleged that Pathanmajra married her on August 14 without divorcing her first wife.
“Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and his maternal brother have been threatening me ever since I have shared our marriage picture on social media sites,” alleged Gurpreet in her complaint.
Talking to PTC News in an exclusive interview, Sanaur MLA clarified that all allegations being levelled by his second wife were "baseless".
“She knew everything about my previous marriage. We parted our ways via mutual compromise between our families. It is Gurpreet’s third marriage and her previous two marriages too ended up in a conflict. She is levelling allegations against me only because she wants me to indulge in corrupt practices like former MLAs so that I can buy her luxuries. In fact, she has been threatening me over calls and I posses all those recordings against her. She has made my life hell.”
Meanwhile taking cognizance of the matter, Punjab women commission has sought a report from the local administration in three to seven days.
“If needed arises, we will seek help from the Punjab government as MLA is public figure, therefore the matter shall be strictly dealt with” stated Women Commission.
