Delhi's BJP govt approves 'Mahila Samridhi Yojana', to give Rs 2,500 to women but on 'This' condition | Know everything about the scheme

PTC News Desk: Delhi's BJP government on Saturday, March 8 has approved 'Mahila Samridhi Yojna' for eligible women in the national capital. The scheme would provide an honorarium of ₹2,500 to the city's women.


The scheme was approved earlier in the day at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. "Mahila Samridhi Yojana to give ₹2500 to women in Delhi has been approved today," BJP national President JP Nadda said. 

“For the promise that we made during the Delhi elections to provide ₹2,500 to the women, we have made a provision of ₹5,100 crores in the Delhi budget for the implementation of the scheme,” said Rekha Gupta.

The Chief Minister also added further that the committee has been formed and registration for the same will begin soon. 

What Is The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana?

The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is a scheme introduced by BJP government to felicitate economic support by providing Rs 2500 to the eligible women of national capital. However, the government has formulated certain criteria to ensure that only the needy may benefit from the scheme.

  • Women with an annual income of less than ₹2.5 lakh will be eligible.  
  • Women employed in government jobs and those who pay income tax will be excluded.  
  • Women already receiving any form of government pension will not be eligible.
