Delhi shocker: Body of 9-year-old girl found stuffed in suitcase, cops suspect sexual assault
PTC News Desk: In another Delhi shocker, a nine year old girl was found dead and her body was stuffed in suitcase North East Delhi's Nehru Vihar area on Saturday. The police officials have suspected sexual assault case as suggested by preliminary medical observation.
The unfortunate incident has sparked outrage triggering a massive protest in the area with locals gathering in large numbers on Sunday to demand swift action and the arrest of the culprit.
Reportedly the girl left her home to meet a relative and did not return even after two hours. Her father began searching and someone reportedly informed him that she had been seen going towards a flat approximately 200 meters from their house.
As the father of the girl received information he reached the building following the clue and discovered the body of her daughter lying motionless and naked in a suitcase. The girl was immediately rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
“On receiving a PCR call at the Dayalpur police station at 8:41 pm, a team was dispatched to Gali No. 2 in Nehru Vihar, which found that the girl's father had already shifted her to the Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital. She was declared dead at the hospital," a senior police officer said.
“The doctors found injury marks on her face and hinted at possible sexual assault," the officer said.
Police have registered a case under the relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he said.
