Department of School Education and Literacy to organise iconic week from Jan 17-21

As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Ministry of Education's Department of School Education and Literacy will host the iconic week from January 17 to 21. The Department of School Education and Literacy will host a range of events as part of the iconic week including a two-day international webinar on toys and games to play, make, and learn. On January 17, a virtual and physical webinar on inclusive education will be held in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM). The webinar will focus on Ed Tech start-ups that serve children with special needs. The event will be attended by senior Ministry of Education officials, principals, state education coordinators, parents, and other stakeholders. Also Read | India logs 2,71,202 fresh Covid-19 cases, positivity rate at 16.28 pc The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold the 27th edition of its Sahodaya School Complexes' National Conference on the theme 'PUNARNAVA-REDISCOVERY OF INDIA @75' on January 17-21 in a hybrid format in collaboration with the Sahodaya School Complex, Gwalior. The goal of the conference is to get participants involved in co-creating and contributing to a more sustainable future. It also intends to help CBSE affiliated school principals and management understand the new policies and innovative practices that the board has implemented in response to the NEP 2020. On January 20-21, a two-day international webinar will be held to rediscover the role of toys in children's cognitive development and promote the skill of creating toys with low/no-cost materials that are not only environmentally friendly but also ignite creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in children. Pedagogical implications of toys, toys and games as learning through play and make, living/local tradition of toy making, courses for making toys and games as skill courses in school education, and so on will be the focus of the Webinar across two days. The webinar will provide a roadmap for incorporating and integrating toys and games into education at all stages. From January 10 to 17, the Department of Higher Education is hosting a 'National Innovation Week.' The week of innovation focuses on the numerous initiatives taken to raise awareness about the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in India. As a part of Unnat Bharat, an E-Symposium on "Building Innovation Ecosystem in Educational Institutions," a webinar on "Cyber Security Empowerment of Higher Education Institutions," and the virtual launch of faculty capacity building as master trainers for Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) were held.
