Effigies of Captain Amarinder Singh burnt in Sangrur by Akali leader
The Shiromani Akali Dal’s statewide protest continues in all the 117 assembly constituencies, here on Saturday during which Akali workers burnt effigies of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Congress President Rahul Gandhi. The workers burnt effigies of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Sunil Jakhar and Justice Ranjit under the leadership of Gulzar Singh Munak in Sangrur district. The move comes after the Congress and AAP had blamed Badals for sacrilege and police firing incidents at Faridkot in 2015. SAD will also hold a ‘Pol Khol’ rally in Abohar on September 9 to highlight the alleged conspiracy hatched by the Punjab Congress government against it. -PTC News
