Amitabh Bachchan receives Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2024
PTC News Desk: Amitabh Bachchan received the prestigious Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award at a ceremony held at Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagrih. On this occasion, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his heartfelt emotions about late singer Lata Mangeshkar. Big B received this award for his incomparable contributions to music, art, culture, and social work.
Big B wore a kurta-pajama set with a multicoloured shawl to this event.
For the unversed, the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award was set up by Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smriti Pratishthan. The family and the trust established the award in memory of Lata Mangeshkar, the eldest of the five Mangeshkar siblings, who died in 2022 from multiple organ failure.
This award is given annually to an individual who has made a groundbreaking contribution to the nation, its people, and society.
The first recipient was Prime Minister Narendra Modi, followed by Lata Mangeshkar's sister Asha Bhosle in 2023. This award is given annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to music, art, culture, and social work.
