Chaos at Mumbai theatre during 'Pushpa 2' screening; stampede in Hyderabad kills 1
PTC Web Desk: The screening of Allu Arjun's much-anticipated movie 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' at Mumbai's Gaiety Galaxy Theatre was disrupted Thursday night when an unknown substance was sprayed in the hall. Several viewers complained of throat irritation and coughing, leading to the screening being halted. A video circulating online showed panicked movie-goers covering their faces amid the chaos. The police arrived to investigate but no case was registered.
A day earlier, a stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2' claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left her nine-year-old son hospitalised due to asphyxiation. The stampede occurred as crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, who arrived at the theater unannounced.
The police have booked Allu Arjun, his security team, and the Sandhya Theatre management under Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) (causing grievous hurt by dangerous means) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Directed by Sukumar, 'Pushpa 2' continues the story of a labourer’s transformation into a smuggling kingpin. The movie stars Rashmika Mandanna opposite Allu Arjun, with Fahadh Faasil playing the antagonist.
