PTC Web Desk: Aditya Dhar’s ambitious spy-action thriller Dhurandhar has rewritten Hindi cinema’s box office history, emerging as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India. Headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film has amassed a staggering Rs 831.40 crore nett at the domestic box office by the end of its 33rd day, cementing its place at the very top of the all-time charts.

What makes the achievement even more remarkable is the film’s sustained momentum. Even in its fifth week, Dhurandhar continues to dominate cinemas, adding Rs 5.70 crore nett on Tuesday (January 6), after collecting Rs 5.40 crore on Monday. The steady weekday figures underline strong audience retention and repeat viewership, a rare feat for big-budget action films.

The film opened to thunderous response and maintained consistency week after week:

Week 1: Rs 218.00 crore

Week 2: Rs 261.50 crore

Week 3: Rs 189.30 crore

Week 4: Rs 115.70 crore

Week 5 weekend: Rs 35.80 crore

Day 32: Rs 5.40 crore

Day 33: Rs 5.70 crore

Total India nett: Rs 831.40 crore

These numbers firmly place Dhurandhar ahead of all previous Hindi blockbusters, setting a new benchmark for theatrical success.

Global dominance without Middle East release

At the worldwide box office, Dhurandhar has crossed an impressive Rs 1,222 crore, despite skipping release in the Middle East, traditionally a strong overseas territory for Indian films. The absence of this market makes its international performance even more extraordinary.

A major share of the overseas revenue has come from North America, where the film has delivered a historic run. With collections touching $31.5 million, Dhurandhar has become only the second Indian film to cross the $20 million mark in the US and Canada. In the process, it has overtaken global hits like RRR, Jawan and Kalki 2898 AD, and is now closing in on the long-standing North American record held by Baahubali 2.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features Ranveer Singh as Hamza, an Indian intelligence operative operating deep inside Karachi while dismantling terror and crime networks. The ensemble cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan, whose performances have added weight to the film’s gripping narrative.

High-octane action sequences, expansive scale and a tightly packed storyline have been widely credited for the film’s phenomenal box office run.

Riding on the film’s massive success, the makers have officially announced Dhurandhar Part 2, which is slated for a March 2026 release.
