Maharashtra cyber summons actress Tamannaah Bhatia in IPL streaming investigation

PTC News Desk: Maharashtra Cyber has summoned actress Tamannaah Bhatia for questioning regarding her involvement in the unauthorised streaming of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) on the Fairplay App.

This action has been taken following reports of significant financial losses incurred by Viacom, the rightful owner of IPL's broadcasting rights, due to this incident. Bhatia is mandated to appear before the authorities on April 29.


The Fairplay app, known for its betting features tailored to the Indian market, is accessible for free on both Android and iOS platforms, with users being able to commence with a minimum deposit of Rs 500.

In a related development, actor Sanjay Dutt was also called for questioning on April 23. However, Dutt failed to appear before Maharashtra Cyber on the designated date, citing his absence from India. He has expressed the need for an alternative date and time to provide his statement regarding the issue.
