Nushrratt Bharuccha stranded in Israel amid Hamas attack, being brought home safely
Nushrratt Bharuccha in Israel: Stranded in Israel amid Hamas terror attacks and retaliatory air raids by the country's defence forces, actor Nushrratt Bharuccha is being taken home safely with the help of the Indian embassy.
"We managed to get in touch with Nushrratt and with the help of the Embassy, she is being brought back home safely. We did not get a direct flight so she is on a connecting flight home. For her further safety, more details cannot be shared but as soon as she lands in India, we will inform you. We are relieved and thank god that she is safe and on her way to India," Sanchita Trivedi, Nushrratt's publicist informed on Sunday.
According to media sources, the actor was in Israel for the Haifa International Film Festival.
A barrage of rocket fire from Gaza into Israel began around 6:30 a.m. (local time) on Saturday, striking various cities including Tel Aviv, Rehovot, Gedera, and Ashkelon.
Following this, many Hamas militants entered Israel from the Gaza Strip and took over Israeli towns.
The operation, named "Al-Aqsa Flood" by Hamas military leader Muhammad Al-Deif, was launched in response to attacks on women, the desecration of Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque, and the ongoing siege of Gaza.
The casualty toll from Hamas' multi-front attack on Israel crossed 300 on Sunday and is anticipated to grow further.
According to the report, at least 1,590 individuals have been injured, with many of them severely.
Nushratt was most recently seen in the film 'Akeli,' which was released earlier this month. The film is about an Indian woman who becomes stuck in war-torn Iraq and fights for survival against all difficulties.
Pranay Meshram directs 'Akelli,' having previously worked as an associate director on other projects.
Dashami Studioz's Nitin Vaidya, Ninad Vaidya, and Aparna Padgaonkar, along with Vicky Sidana and Shashant Shah, produce the film.
