Probe agency ED summons actor Ranbir Kapoor in online betting case
PTC News Desk: Actor Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged online betting app case. He is expected to appear before the probe agency on October 6, as part of their investigation into his involvement in promoting the Mahadev online book betting app.
The ED's inquiry has revealed digital evidence indicating that approximately Rs 112 crore was transferred through hawala channels to an event management company. Additionally, around Rs 42 crore was reportedly spent in cash for hotel bookings, according to sources who disclosed this information last month.

The Mahadev online gambling app allegedly offers a platform for illegal betting on various live games, including card games, games of chance, cricket, badminton, tennis, football, and even allows users to bet on Indian elections. It also provides users with the opportunity to play several card games, such as 'teen patti,' poker, 'dragon tiger,' virtual cricket games, and more.
The ED's investigation into the Mahadev online betting case is ongoing, and it is expected that other prominent Bollywood actors and singers may also be summoned for questioning. The list of individuals potentially involved includes Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Neha Kakkar, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Asgar, Vishal Dadlani, Elli AvrRam, Bharti Singh, Bhagyashree, Kriti Kharbanda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Krushna Abhishek, and Sukhwinder Singh.
Further details regarding the investigation are awaited as authorities delve deeper into the alleged involvement of these individuals in the online betting app case.
