Sara Ali Khan May Need Affidavit to Visit Kedarnath, Badrinath; New Rules By Temple Officials

Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with the film Kedarnath. Since then, she has built a strong connection with the holy town and has visited the Kedarnath Temple several times to seek blessings.

Recently, Sara Ali Khan has been in the news due to a new rule regarding entry into the Kedarnath Temple and Badrinath Temple. According to reports, she may need to submit an affidavit if she wants to visit these temples in the future.

New Temple Entry Rule

The Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has announced a new guideline for temple entry. As per this rule, non-Hindus who wish to enter the temple premises must provide a written declaration stating their faith in Sanatan Dharma.

This decision was approved by the committee on March 10 and has been sent to the Uttarakhand government for further approval. The rule aims to allow entry only to those who respect and believe in the traditions of Sanatan Dharma.

What It Means for Sara Ali Khan?

When asked about Sara Ali Khan, the temple committee stated that she can visit the temples if she submits an affidavit confirming her faith and devotion. Since Sara comes from a mixed religious background-her mother Amrita Singh is Sikh and her father Saif Ali Khan is Muslim-this rule becomes especially relevant in her case.

However, it is important to note that Sara has often expressed her spiritual side and her respect for Hindu traditions through her temple visits and social media posts.

Char Dham Yatra 2026 Update

This development comes just before the start of the Char Dham Yatra, one of the most important pilgrimages in India. The yatra will begin on April 19, with lakhs of devotees expected to take part.

  • Kedarnath Temple will open on April 22
  • Badrinath Temple will open on April 23

Over 6 lakh devotees have already registered for the yatra this year.

Sara’s Connection with Kedarnath

Sara Ali Khan shares a special bond with Kedarnath. She shot her debut film in the beautiful Himalayan location and has been visiting the temple regularly since then. She often shares pictures and videos from her trips, showing her devotion and love for the place.

The Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds great religious importance for devotees across India.

Sara Ali Khan's Statement Regarding Temple Entry
