Gippy Grewal receives death threat from Goldy Brar, days after security cover withdrawn
PTC News Desk: Punjab singer Gippy Grewal allegedly received threatening call in the name of gangster Goldy Brar. The purported audio clip of the same is doing rounds on social media. In the recording, the caller says, “Yes, Gippy, this is Goldy Brar speaking. I had sent you a message a few days ago, but you haven’t replied yet.”
During the call, the caller can also be heard threatening a potential attack on his life if warnings are ignored.
DSP City-2 Harsimran Singh Bal said that the police have not yet received any complaint in this matter. He added that if a complaint is filed, an investigation will be carried out and action will be taken.
Gippy Grewal currently lives in the White Rock area of Vancouver, Canada. On November 25 last year, his house was also targeted in a firing incident, for which the Lawrence gang had claimed responsibility. In a post, the gang not only took responsibility but also issued a death threat.
Meanwhile SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal criticised Punjab government's decision to withdraw security cover of Gippy Grewal and other Punjabi singers and further raised alarming concerns over safety of the residents.
"Disturbed to learn that our superstar Gippy Grewal received a threat from notorious gangster Goldy Brar — right after CM @BhagwantMann withdrew his security cover, just because he came to meet me at my Badal residence recently," he posted on his social media.

"No one is safe in Punjab anymore, as law and order has totally collapsed. Security is now decided on the CM’s whims and fancies," he added.
