PTC Web Desk: A property dealer and promotor, Chini Kubaheri, alias Charanpreet Singh, was shot dead in Chandigarh’s Sector 9 on Wednesday in a shocking daylight attack. The victim had just exited a gym and was about to get into his SUV when two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at him.

According to initial reports, the attackers fired around 12 rounds in quick succession. The victim sustained multiple bullet injuries and collapsed on the driver’s seat of his vehicle.

He was immediately rushed to the PGI in the same vehicle. However, due to excessive blood loss, he reportedly succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

Police teams reached the spot soon after the incident and recovered 12 empty shells from the crime scene. A forensic team has also been deployed to assist in the investigation.

The deceased was a resident of Mullanpur. Notably, the location of the incident is just a few minutes away from key administrative offices, including the Chandigarh Administration headquarters and the SSP’s office.

Sources suggest that the victim had earlier received threats. The police are currently investigating the case from all possible angles.

The post, written in Punjabi, hints at gang rivalry and suggests the act was carried out as part of ongoing tensions. Authorities are yet to officially verify the claim, and further investigation is underway to establish the authenticity of the post and identify those involved.
