Shatrughan Sinha breaks silence on Sonakshi wedding : Recently, Bollywood is buzzing with the thrilling news that actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are reportedly planning to get married on June 23 in Mumbai, however in a recent interview Shatrughan Sinha clarified that he has not been in any discussions about his daughter's marriage plans.
Finally coming in front of the media and addressing the ongoing discussions regarding the wedding of his daughter, actress Sonakshi Sinha, to her boyfriend and fellow actor Zaheer Iqbal, Shatrughan Sinha clarified that he has not been in any discussions about his daughter's marriage plans. He mentioned that both he and his wife would wholeheartedly bless the couple once they are officially informed about the wedding.
When asked about Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding, Shatrughan seemed largely in the dark. "I am in Delhi right now. After the election results, I flew down here. I haven't spoken to anyone about my daughter's plans. So your question is, is she getting married? The answer is that she hasn't told me anything about it. Main bhi utna hi jaanta ho jitna main media maine padha hai (I know as much about this as what the media has told me). If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. We wish her happiness always," said veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha.
He went on to explain that his daughter has the right to make her own choices. "We trust her judgment completely. She would never make any unconstitutional or illegal decisions. As a consenting adult, she has the right to make her own decisions," he said.
He reiterated his point about waiting to be officially informed about the wedding. "People close to me are asking why I am not aware of this while the media seems to be. “All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maap-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain (these days, children don't seek permission from parents, they just inform). We are waiting to be informed," he said.
On the work front, Sonakshi is being lauded for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar'.
