Sunny Deol to play Hanuman in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana? Here's what we know
PTC News Desk: For a long time, Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana has been making headlines. While it is already known that Ranbir Kapoor will play Ram in the film, it has now been rumoured that Sunny Deol will play Hanuman. According to Pinkvilla, the Gadar 2 actor is in talks with Ramayana makers about playing Hanuman.
"Hanuman stands for strength, and there is no one better in the Indian film industry than Sunny Deol to justify what Bajrangbali stands for. The actor has expressed interest in appearing in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana adaptation and in playing Lord Hanuman. However, it is still in the early phases of talks," according to a source cited by the entertainment portal.
"In addition to being a part of the Ramayana trilogy, Nitesh Tiwari and his producer partners, Allu Aravind, Madhu Mantena, and Namit Malhotra, are working on a standalone film about Lord Hanuman starring Sunny Deol." The Ramayana is only one part of Lord Hanuman's life; there are many more to the story. Nitesh wants to explore this further with a standalone film about Lord Hanuman," the source stated.
According to the source, Sunny Deol is 'seriously considering' taking on this project.
While Ranbir Kapoor will play Ram in this film, Sai Pallavi has reportedly been chosen in the role of Sita. Previously, Alia Bhatt was in talks for the role of Sita, but she stepped out early this year owing to scheduling issues. Meanwhile, KGF actor Yash is expected to play Ravana in the film. However, no official notification has been made as of yet.
Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is expected to hit theatres in mid-2024.
