Two gangsters behind Disha Patani house firing killed in Ghaziabad encounter
PTC Web Desk: Ghaziabad witnessed a dramatic encounter on Wednesday evening when the Delhi Police Special Cell, in coordination with the Uttar Pradesh and Haryana Special Task Forces (STF), gunned down two gangsters accused of opening fire outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly last week.
The deceased were identified as Ravinder from Rohtak and Arun from Sonepat, both linked to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar network. The police said the duo exchanged several rounds before being neutralised near Tronica City. Ravinder sustained a gunshot wound to his chest, while Arun was hit in the neck and chest. Both succumbed during treatment at a hospital.
The operation was launched after two men on a motorcycle opened fire outside Patani’s Bareilly home around 3.30 am on September 12. Hours later, a social media handle allegedly connected to gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility.
How the trail closed in
Investigators said Ravinder’s identity surfaced after CCTV footage from the crime scene was analysed. Using crime records and technical surveillance, the UP STF tracked the duo’s movements through Bareilly and adjoining districts before tracing them to Ghaziabad.
By Monday, a joint team led by ACP Dharmender Singh and SI Manjeet Singh confirmed the accused were hiding in the Tronica City area. The gangsters were intercepted at 7.20 pm on Wednesday. When ordered to surrender, they allegedly fired at the police, injuring four officials and damaging a vehicle. The police retaliated, leaving both accused fatally wounded.
Why Disha Patani’s family was targeted
According to STF officials, the gang had been monitoring the actress’s house to extort money from her family. Haryana STF Superintendent of Police Waseem Akram confirmed the men were directly linked to the September 12 shooting in Bareilly.
Officials added that Ravinder was a wanted criminal in multiple cases, including a 2024 court firing in Fatehabad and a gang war in Bhiwani earlier this month. The police recovered a stolen motorcycle, a Zigana pistol, and a Glock Gen 5 pistol from the spot.
Among the injured officers were SI Rohit, who suffered a gunshot wound on his left hand, HC Kailash with an injury to his right hand, and UP STF constables Ankur and Jai, both hurt during the exchange of fire.
