Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022: The seventh phase and final phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh concluded at 6 pm on Monday.
Following the end of assembly elections in the state, people around the country are curious to know 'Will BJP break the 37-year jinx in Uttar Pradesh?' Notably, no CM has been re-elected in Uttar Pradesh since 1985 making the 2022 elections more interesting.
As the Assembly elections in five states — Punjab, Manipur, Uttarakhand, Goa and Uttar Pradesh end, the exit poll 2022 results are out.
According to the P-MARQ exit poll, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led BJP is expected to retain power in Uttar Pradesh. The saffron party+ is likely to win 240 seats (+-15) in the 403-member Assembly, crossing the majority mark. Samajwadi Party+, on the other hand, is striving for 140 seats (+-10). Other parties are likely to gain a small amount of ground. Where BSP is expected to win 17 seats, Congress may manage to bag 4 (+2) and others 2 (+2).

Matrize News Communication also gives an edge to BJP in UP. According to its exit poll results, BJP+ is anticipated to win 262-277 seats, whereas SP is projected to come second with at least 119-134 seats. BSP may get 7-15 seats and Congress can bag 3-8 seats.

As the exit poll results show BJP making its way across UP, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav predicted on Monday that the ruling party will be wiped out of Uttar Pradesh when the results are announced on March 10th.
The SP supremo also dismissed pre-poll surveys that projected BJP having an edge in Uttar Pradesh elections.
"Let them show whatever they have got. We are winning with a majority," he asserted.
