Former Agriculture Minister Jathedar Tota Singh passes away View in Punjabi

Moga, May 21: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former agriculture minister Jathedar Tota Singh passed away on Saturday, informed his son Barjinder Singh Brar. He was 81.

According to the reports, the veteran Indian politician breathed his last at Fortis Hospital in Mohali.

Three-time MLA and a dyed-in-wool Akali Dal leader Jathedar Tota Singh was suffering from complications due to lung pneumonia since February.

After complaining of breathlessness and other difficulties, he was re-admitted to the hospital two days ago. He was a close confidant of SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal, having won the polls twice from Moga and once from Dharamkot.

Senior SAD leaders Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed grief over the death of Tota Singh and extended condolences to the grieved family.

His invaluable advice & wise counsel will always be missed. I stand with Brar family in this hour of grief," tweeted Sukhbir Badal.
