Four Indians found frozen to death in Canada identified; details inside
Four Indians who were found frozen in a Manitoba field near the US-Canada border have been officially identified as a family from India's Gujarat.
The deceased have been identified as Jagdish Baldevbhai Patel (39) Vaishaliben Jagdishkumar Patel (37) a three-year-old son, Dharmik Jagdishkumar Patel, and 11-year-old daughter, Vihangi Jagdishkumar Patel.

As per the statement from Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the autopsies of the four deceased were done on January 26 by Manitoba's chief medical examiner. The examiner confirmed that the cause of death was due to exposure to extreme weather conditions.
Meanwhile, India's High Commission in Ottawa, Canada stated that the next of kin of the deceased have been informed. The Consulate General of India in Toronto is in contact with the family of the deceased. They are providing all consular support.
According to the initial probe, the Patel family had arrived in Toronto on January 12, their first point of entry into Canada. They made their way to the Manitoba community of Emerson, near the international border, around January 18.
However, the investigation is underway to determine the details around their arrival in Toronto and how they got to Manitoba.
