'High inflation, unemployment: Congress to present report card of Modi govt on its 8th anniversary
New Delhi, May 26: As the Narendra Modi-led BJP government is completing eight years at the Centre, the opposition Congress will release a "report card" on its performance.
Congress General Secretaries Ajay Maken and Randeep Surjewala are set to hold a press conference in Delhi to present a report card of the Modi government.
According to sources, the Communication Department of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has prepared a report card highlighting the failures and performance of the BJP government on several fronts like the economy, foreign policy, communal harmony and inflation.
"Unemployment is high and has broken record of 45 years while inflation is rising especially of essential commodities, petrol-diesel prices are historic high and Rupee against Dollar is historic low, the foreign reserve is also dipping so the country is suffering from the economic crisis," sources informed.

In terms of national security, Chinese aggression along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is a major concern that the Central Government has failed to address adequately.
The report card will also highlight concerns about communal harmony and the country's polarization since there has been unrest in different regions of various states in recent months.
Covid-19 management will also be evaluated by Congress.
All of the above issues, as well as other aspects of the Central Government's performance, will be addressed in the report card.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government will complete its eight years in power on May 30, which the party plans to commemorate with a series of events around the country from May 30 to June 14.
