India reports 13,405 new Covid-19 cases, 235 deaths in last 24 hours
New Delhi, February 22: India recorded 13,405 new Covid-19 cases and 235 deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.
According to the bulletin, the country's active cases currently stand at 1,81,075, and the total number of recoveries in the last 24 hours is 34,226. 10,84,247 samples were collected in the last 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate stands at 1.24 percent whereas the weekly positivity rate is 1.98 percent. As many as 175.83 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far in the country.
With the administration of 35.50 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 175.83 crores in the country.
As many as 1,91,61,419 precautionary doses have been administered since January 2022.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company Biological E on Monday received emergency use authorisation from Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for its Covid-19 vaccine Corbevax for the 12 to 18 age group.
The country's central drug authority had approved the Covid-19 vaccine Corbevax for restricted use in emergency situations among adults on December 28, 2019. Biological E received the approval for restricted use in an emergency situation in adolescents aged 12 to less than 18 years based on interim results (of the ongoing phase II/III clinical study).
