India reports 2,226 fresh cases, 65 deaths in 24 hours

India covid-19 update: India recorded 2,226 new cases of Covid-19, along with 65 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday, India saw a total of 2,202 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate to around 98.75 percent. With this, total recoveries data reached to 4,25,97,003. India-sees-a-dip-in-Covid-19-cases-3 Meanwhile, the total active cases of Covid-19 in India declined to 14,955, the update by the health ministry data showed. On Saturday, the registered active cases were 14,996. The active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections, the ministry informed.

India-sees-a-dip-in-Covid-19-cases-5 Of the 4,42,681 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, a daily positivity rate of 0.50 percent was recorded in the country. With this, 84.67 crore total Covid-19 tests have been conducted so far in the country. On the Covid-19 vaccination front, 192.28 crore vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide coronavirus vaccination drive. The health ministry also updated that there are more than 16.53 Cr (16,53,73,860) balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses still available with the States/Union Territories that are yet to be administered. India-sees-a-dip-in-Covid-19-cases-4 According to an official statement, the Government of India has so far provided more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses to the States/UTs from its free of cost channel and through the direct state procurement category. Centre, as a part of its nationwide vaccination drive that started on tarted on 16 January 2021, has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them with Covid-19 Vaccines free of cost.
