India Stops Poonch Rawalakot Bus Service

India Stops Poonch Rawalakot Bus Service

India stopped Poonch Rawalakot bus service today (February 18). The Cross-LoC bus services on the Poonch-Rawalakot road between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has been suspended following the Pulwama terror attack. India has already taken some stern steps earlier following the attack.

India has revoked the Most Favored Nation Status granted to Pakistan. The Union government has hiked the customs duty on all goods imported from Pakistan to 200 % with immediate effect. The security cover of six separatist leaders, Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Lone, Hashim Qureshi, Fazal Haq Qureshi and Shabir Shah and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, was withdrawn by India on Sunday. The encounter took place in Pinglina area of Pulwama. The army personnel killed in the encounter belonged to 55 Rashtriya Rifles. Security forces received information that some militants were hiding in the area. Following which Indian Army's 55 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF and Special Operation Group jointly launched a cordon in the early hours of Monday morning. During the search operation, a gunfight broke out.
