Jagdish Raj Raja becomes the sixth mayor of Jalandhar. Along with the Mayor, playing the Dalit and the women empowerment card at the same time, Congress announced Surinder Kaur as the Senior Deputy Mayor. While Harsimranjit Singh Bunty becomes the Deputy Mayor of Jalandhar. All newly elected 80 Councillors of the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation, including 66 of the Congress, took oath on Thursday following which Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor were appointed. -PTC News
