One militant was killed after a pre-dawn gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in in Pulawama in Kashmir on Tuesday morning.

A senior Police officer told that,” one militant have been killed . During the encounter, One soldier of 50 Rashtriya rifles attained martyrdom whereas one elite para commando officer was injured”

The security forces including personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police cordoned off the area.

According to a police official, the gunfight started after security forces launched search operation in Pulwama following input about the presence of terrorists in the area.

Meanwhile, Mobile internet services have been suspended in south Kashmir's Pulwama district.
