Chandigarh University's UIMS lights up campus with spectacular 'Diwali Fiesta 2023' extravaganza
Mohali, November 9: Chandigarh University's University Institute of Media Studies (UIMS) illuminated the campus with the vibrant spirit of Diwali during the grand celebration of 'Diwali Fiesta 2023'. The event, inaugurated by Executive Director of the department, Dr Anurag Verma, showcased a splendid array of stalls featuring food, captivating decor, and trendy fashion.
These facets were skillfully managed by the enthusiastic students and dedicated faculty members of UIMS. The festivities drew a diverse crowd, with students from various departments joining the celebration alongside their respective faculties and Heads of Departments. Guided by Dr Chanchal Sachdeva Suri and Shweta Chugh, under the leadership of Head of the Department, Dr Ankit Kashyap, UIMS students exhibited their organisational and creative prowess in orchestrating a wide range of activities.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ankit Kashyap highlighted the significance of such initiatives in honing the event management and entrepreneurship skills of students.
The success of Diwali Fiesta 2023 was bolstered by the generous support from the Pranyas Foundation. Profits generated from the event were dedicated to the betterment of underprivileged segments of society. The donation drive unfolded at the SOREM School in Chandigarh, a commendable institution managed by specially abled individuals. The dedicated team from UIMS extended their festive spirit by distributing sweets, diyas, and home decor items to the specially abled workers, spreading joy and warmth in the true spirit of Diwali.
