When will NEET PG be conducted? NBE President gives update
NEET PG exam: The new date for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) (NEET PG) is expected to be announced this week. The exam was postponed on June 22, less than 12 hours before the scheduled time, shocking students and raising concerns about the exam body, the National Testing Agency (NTA).
President of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, Abhijat Sheth, stated on Tuesday that the SOPs and protocols will be reviewed as soon as possible, and the next date for the examination will be announced by next week.
Sheth's statement followed a review meeting between officials from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences and the Union Health Ministry to assess the situation and feedback received by the government before postponing the examination.
The exam was postponed amid a major controversy over the NEET UG paper leak and the cancellation of the UGC-NET. NEET-PG is held to determine whether MBBS graduates are eligible to enrol in postgraduate medical courses at government and private medical colleges across the country.
The last-minute cancellation of the NEET PG exam drew criticism from candidates.
The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions, each with four answer options. Candidates must select the correct, best, or most appropriate answer from the available options. The exam lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes.
A correct response earns four points, whereas an incorrect answer earns one point less. Unanswered questions do not count against your final score.
