- Women wake up in the morning and observe a-day long fast as a mark of devotion
- Women get dressed up dressed in new traditional attire with jewellery, accessories and items needed for the rituals
- Many women create a small idol or image of Goddess Parvati out of clay or sand.
- Women gather for a puja of Goddess Parvati. The puja usually takes place in the morning or evening.
- Swinging on decorated swings is an integral part of the celebrations.
- Application of Mehendi is also considered an auspicious part of Teej 2024.
- Women offer food to the moon by looking at it through a sieve and then break their fast with a meal.
- People often gather with friends and family to celebrate. They share festive meals, exchange gifts, and enjoy traditional dance and music.
