Match fix hai, says Congress' Ravneet Bittu while referring to Punjab elections 2022
Ahead of Punjab elections 2022, Congress MP from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu has made a controversial statement. He said Congress has planted its own ’47 candidates’ in Aam Aadmi Party to contest Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections. Later MP said that ‘the party (Congress) can bring them back whenever they wish to.’

Refuting the claim made by Bittu, AAP candidate from West, who had joined the Aam Aadmi Party from Congress, Gurpreet Gogi has said that Bittu is ‘childish’ and his allegation puts a question mark on the Congress party itself.
He further said, “Bharat Bhushan Ashu is contesting against me from the West, it means Bittu is against Ashu.”
Amid reports of differences within the Congress, Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, who is also the chairman of party’s election management committee for Punjab, held a closed-door meeting with “disgruntled” leaders of Amritsar, asking them to support PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and other party candidates in their campaign.

Local Congress leaders have been conspicuous by their absence during campaigning by Sidhu in the high-stakes Amritsar East constituency, where he is pitted against SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia. Similarly, in Amritsar North, sitting Congress MLA Sunil Dutti has expressed displeasure and sought support from party colleagues.
