Mob vandalises ISKCON temple in Bangladesh's Dhaka, several injured

Kolkata (West Bengal), March 18: A mob of 200 people allegedly vandalised the ISKCON Radhkanta temple in Dhaka in Bangladesh on Thursday, said media reports. The violent incident comes a few months after attacks on religious places in the country. Meanwhile, the High Commission in Dhaka is in touch with the authorities there, said Indian government sources. According to Bangladeshi police, the reason for the conflict is a long-running dispute over the land on which the ISKCON temple is built. Following the incident, local authorities intervened and brought the situation under control. The injured have been taken to Dhaka Medical College for treatment. Both parties in the dispute have filed lawsuits and police are investigating them.
